What was the highlight of Mereva Tulum
Wonderful
Absolutely loved our stay! small and cozy hotel with friendly staff who make the attention feel very personalized. Super comfortable beds, clean and spacious rooms and good food! Some things to consider before booking your stay (not cons by any means, just helpful advice) - its far from city center, you 100% need a car - beach is rocky but they have a pool on the beach so that wasnt a problem for us - if booking in “winter” time, the room with a pool on the balcony is not worth it as its always cold and does not get direct sunlight
The “pool” in the balcony is not a jacuzzi, does not have a tap or drain so its stagnant water. You could see the sunscreen floating from previous guests so we sadly never used it + the temperature situation explained above

What was the highlight of Mereva Tulum
Beautiful and peaceful stay far from the noise
Our stay at Mereva Tulum was wonderful. The hotel is nestled in a peaceful location north of Tulum, close to a cenote. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the breakfast each morning was fantastic, thanks to Aaron’s great service. The entire staff was very friendly, especially Dalia, who went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. The room was spacious with a gorgeous bathroom and all the necessary amenities. There were two pools which we enjoyed since the ocean had a lot of sargassum most days. Jose Luis, our waiter at the restaurant, made a significant difference every day with his warm smile and engaging stories.
There were two main issues during our stay, though they are not directly related to the hotel but are things to consider. Firstly, the restaurant, though serving very good food, was quite expensive, consistent with all Tulum prices. The portion sizes were inconsistent; one day, the dish would be plentiful, and the next day, it would leave us wondering what happened to the rest of the plate. Secondly, the dependence on taxis was a significant issue. There is severe overinflation of rates throughout the Riviera Maya, with Tulum being the worst. Each taxi ride to town, even for a short distance, cost $25-30, and the ride from the airport was over $250. While the hotel recommends renting a car, this also comes with its own risks, including high rental costs and potential safety concerns. We recommend researching transportation options before going to Tulum, such as the ADO bus from the airport to town, which costs 160 pesos per person, to avoid the exorbitant taxi rates.

What was the highlight of Mereva Tulum
We had a really nice time and enjoyed our stay.
The rooms were very clean and nice, great staff always willing to help with any questions, a nice place away from all the crowds. Always enjoyed the free breakfast that was included with the stay.
The only thing was that you really couldn't go out into the water due the the reef and rocks. Otherwise it was beautiful. We just went to a beach club up the road about 20 minutes,

A great boutique hotel far from the crowds
Lovely boutique hotel. We had a beautiful room overlooking the sea. Front of house staff lovely. Great location, but far from Tulum town. Taxis are expensive (around 500pesos one way)
Excursions organised by the hotel were very expensive. Felt like they just made up a price. Some waiters could be a little off hand. But most were lovely.
